CULTURE OF PANGASIUS:
- Mostly in cement tank, open pond and cage at very high density, their weight reaches around one kilogram in 6 to 8 months, this weight is best for their harvest.
- Both fishes either males or females have the same rate in growth.
- Their spawning period is October and February and they spawn several times.
- Sexual mature means they lay 80000/kg eggs at the age of 3-3.5 years to lay eggs.
HEALTH:
- Forming of Pangasius has been accelerated to increase production and get maximum profit but with it the problem caused by disease virus, bacteria, algae, fungi, parasites and other pathogens increases.
- In Pangas farming, disease related problems are common so its costs increase in such method as prevention and treatment of diseases.
- Pangasius disease resistant but all can increase the chances of parasites or bacterial infections due to deteriorating water quality, low water temp or low temp.
NUTRITION REQUIREMENT OF PANGASIUS:
- Fishes are produced using 28 to 38% protein, which mainly consists of green waste material, it can also be produced by using homemade tree or agricultural by-product as a natural natural product. could.
PANGASIUS FEED: HOW TO GET FEEDING IN RAS.
INDUSTRIAL FEED:
- Which can reduce fish diseases and environmental pollution by feed residues but industrial feed is more expensive than other option like homemade feed. two types of feed available in market for fishes i.e. floating and sinking feed.
- Different breeds of fishes prefer different feed, according to the size of the feed fish are available in different sizes in the form of pellets like pangasius will eat only floating feed
FCR (Feed Conversion Ratio): What is FCR?
- The FCR of the rest as per FAO which feeds on commercial feed is around 1.7-19:1.
- Pangasius feeding is divided into 2 stages - (1) For the first time- high protein amount and minerals from which fish can get maximum length. (2) Secondly- the amount of carbohydrates in commercial feed usually increases to make the fish fatter making them heavier and thus leading to higher production of pangas fish.
- Improvements in feed will create a major contribution to the expansion of fish survival and shortening the culture cycle.
